Why I Am Starting a Daily Gratitude Blog

Gratitude has been a quiet thread running through my life and my art. Over the years, I’ve learned that it is not just about saying “thank you” for the good things and some times even bad things, but about shifting my perspective, choosing to see light even when the world feels heavy.

I want to start this daily gratitude blog because gratitude grounds me. It helps me slow down, notice the small things, and honor the moments that might otherwise pass me by. I’ve spent so much of my life chasing goals and deadlines, and I know how easy it is to lose sight of what truly matters. This practice is my way of staying connected to myself and to the beauty around me and to always see the glass as half full.

Gratitude also fuels my art. Every painting I create, whether it is a cat, a flower, or an abstract echo of the earth, carries with it a sense of reverence for life. Writing daily will help me nurture the same spirit in words that I try to capture with brushstrokes.

Most of all, I want this blog to be a reminder that self-love and joy begin with appreciation. Even in moments of doubt or darkness, there is always something to hold close. A bird outside my window, the laughter of a friend, the peace of yoga practice, the comfort of a furry companion, all of these are gifts.

By writing daily, I hope to cultivate a deeper sense of presence, resilience, and openness. And perhaps, in sharing this journey, I can inspire someone else to pause and find gratitude in their own life too.
