Today, I am grateful for a cosy and heartwarming gathering at a close friend’s new apartment. Her new place is beautiful, a spacious and peaceful condo surrounded by lush greenery. The moment I stepped in, I could feel the calm energy and the warmth of a home that is truly lived in and loved.
I also felt deeply honoured to see one of my paintings hanging on her wall. She has always lived in the east, close to the sea and the beach. The ocean has been part of her everyday scenery for years. Now that she has moved to the west, she is surrounded by greenery instead. She told me that my painting reminds her of the seaside she misses, and that she loves how she can now enjoy both the forest-like greenery outside her windows and the feeling of the seaside inside her home. Hearing that touched me more than words can express.
We shared a lovely dinner together. One friend made a delicious shepherd’s pie and a burnt cheesecake that melted in the mouth. We also had sushi, pizzas, and wine to the table, and soon the whole evening was filled with laughter, conversations, and the familiar comfort of long-time friendship.
There is something so special about being able to gather like this, to sit around a table, to talk about life, dreams, work, and silly things, and to feel completely at ease. I am grateful that all my close friends are doing well in their own little ways, each navigating life with strength and grace. Seeing them happy makes my heart full.
Tonight reminded me of the simple blessings in life. Good food, a beautiful home, meaningful conversations, and the company of people who have walked with me through so many chapters. Truly grateful for these friendships that anchor, uplift, and fill life with warmth. 💛🌿🥂
