10 Dec 2025 – Grateful for the Joy of Teaching and the Inspiring People I Meet

Today, I’m overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity to teach a class at the yoga studio. Every class reminds me how much I love sharing this practice, and how much I learn in return. We exchanged ideas, insights, and little nuggets of wisdom that only come from practicing together with openness and curiosity.

After class, I had coffee with two of my students, including one who completely amazed me, a gentleman in his mid-70s who moves, thinks, and lives with the energy of someone decades younger. His flexibility, strength, and vitality are remarkable, but what truly impressed me was his passion for continuous learning.

He shared about his daily routine: mornings spent exercising, practicing yoga, or going to the gym. He is even interested in becoming a yoga teacher himself, hoping to guide seniors in his community. I encouraged him wholeheartedly, his spirit is exactly what the world needs more of.

Our conversation went even deeper. I learned that he builds websites, teaches seniors at community centres about tech and entrepreneurship, and even maintains a website about the maritime history of Southeast Asia. As if that wasn’t inspiring enough, he’s also writing a book on entrepreneurship. His mind is sharp, curious, and wonderfully alive.

Spending time with him reminded me of how I want to age, with purpose, curiosity, generosity, and a spirit that never stops growing.

I’m grateful for these moments, for the connections yoga brings into my life, and for the privilege of crossing paths with people who expand my understanding of what is possible at any age.

Here’s to lifelong learning, active living, and staying open to inspiration wherever it finds us.
