2 Jan 2026 – Grateful for the Reminder to Slow Down

Today, I fell sick with a cold, and as uncomfortable as it was, I’m choosing to see it as a gentle message from the universe to slow down and rest.

I woke up with a cough, an irritated throat, and a mild fever. My body clearly needed attention and care, not pushing or productivity. So instead of resisting it, I listened. I made myself a hot honey tea with lemon and ginger. Enjoying the warmth it brings to my body.

I took the day to truly rest. I napped when my body asked for it, read quietly, and spent some unhurried time updating my website. Nothing rushed, nothing forced. Just moving at a gentler pace and allowing myself to be.

In a world that often rewards constant motion, being unwell can feel frustrating. But today reminded me that rest is not a setback. It is part of the rhythm of living well. Sometimes slowing down is exactly what we need to realign, recover, and reset.

Grateful for the reminder to care for my body, to listen more closely, and to honour rest when it is needed. Even in sickness, there is something to be thankful for.
