16 Feb 2026 – Grateful for Family Reunion

This Chinese New Year Eve felt especially meaningful.

I’m deeply grateful to my brother for cooking a delicious Thai style reunion dinner for the family. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and what touched me most was knowing he made all the spices from scratch. The aroma filled the kitchen long before we sat down to eat, rich, fragrant, and comforting.

There is something beautiful about watching someone cook with care for the people they love. It is not just about the food. It is about effort, time, and intention. Every bite carried that warmth.

Gathering around the table together reminded me what reunion dinners are truly about. Not extravagance. Not perfection. Just being present with one another.

I am especially grateful to be spending another Chinese New Year with my family, and most of all with my mum. Each year feels more precious. To see her at the table, smiling, enjoying the meal, listening to our conversations, is something I do not take for granted.

The laughter, the familiar teasing, the clinking of bowls and chopsticks, the comfort of being surrounded by people who have known you your whole life. That is abundance.

Tonight I feel thankful for my brother’s cooking, for family traditions that evolve yet remain rooted in love, and for the simple gift of being together for another New Year.

Grateful for good food.
Grateful for family.
Grateful for time that we can still share.
