Today I feel deeply grateful for another quiet and intimate evening shared over a good meal.
We had dinner at Gochi-So Shokudo, a small Japanese restaurant that felt warm and comforting the moment we stepped in. There is something special about these unassuming places, where the focus is simply on good food and a peaceful atmosphere.
The meal was memorable. The breaded pork chop was perfectly done, crisp on the outside and incredibly tender within. Each bite was rich yet comforting. The Japanese char siew was equally delightful, soft and full of flavour, almost melting in the mouth. Paired with fragrant Japanese rice and a delicious sesame sauce, the whole meal felt satisfying in the most simple and honest way.
More than the food, it was the company that made the evening meaningful. Sitting across from my hubby, sharing the meal, talking, and just being present, it reminded me how these small moments are what truly make up a life.
In a world where so much is happening beyond our control, where some parts of the world are facing conflict, uncertainty, and hardship, moments like this feel even more precious. The ability to sit down in peace, to enjoy a warm meal, to feel safe and cared for, is something that should never be taken for granted.
Today I am grateful for love, for good food, and for the quiet privilege of peace. These simple joys, though small, are deeply meaningful.
