Today marks the beginning of our trip to Sabah, and I feel grateful for the simple joy of travelling again.
We took an early morning flight and arrived safely in Kota Kinabalu. There is always something refreshing about landing in a new place. The air feels different, the pace slows slightly, and the mind immediately shifts into a more relaxed rhythm.
After arriving, we checked into our comfortable hotel and took a short rest. It is always a small luxury to step into a clean, cosy room after a flight and know that this will be home for the next few days.
For lunch, we found a lovely little café just next to the hotel. It had a cosy atmosphere and felt like the kind of place travellers stumble upon and instantly like. Good food, a quiet space, and a gentle start to the trip.
Later in the afternoon, we visited a nearby mall, did a little shopping, and of course stopped for coffee. Sitting down with a cup of coffee after a day of travel felt especially nice. Nothing rushed, just enjoying the moment.
Sometimes the first day of a trip is not about doing many things. It is about settling in, slowing down, and letting the mind transition into holiday mode.
Grateful for a smooth journey.
Grateful for comfortable places to rest.
Grateful for good food, coffee, and the simple pleasure of exploring somewhere new.
Sabah, here we are.
