7 Mar 2026 – Grateful for a Gentle Last Day in Kota Kinabalu

Today marks the end of our wonderful trip to Sabah.

We had an evening flight home, so we spent the last day slowly enjoying the final moments of the journey. In the morning, we did a little last minute shopping, picking up a few things to bring back as reminders of the trip.

In the afternoon, we found a lovely café and spent some quiet time there. Sitting with a cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake, just relaxing and reflecting on the week we had. It felt like the perfect gentle ending to the trip.

Soon after, we headed to the airport and took our flight home. I’m grateful that we reached home safely after the journey.

Looking back, this past week has been truly special. From the clear waters of the islands where we snorkelled among vibrant marine life, to the cool mountains of Kundasang where we breathed in crisp fresh air and admired the grandeur of Mount Kinabalu.

Beaches and mountains, sunshine and cool mist, fresh seafood and cosy cafés. Each day brought something different, yet all of it felt peaceful and refreshing.

Grateful for safe travels throughout the trip.
Grateful for the beauty of Sabah.
Grateful for a week long holiday spent chilling between the sea and the mountains.

Trips like this remind me how important it is to pause, explore, and appreciate the world beyond our daily routines.
