Today, I am grateful for a simple, comforting indulgence.
A slow breakfast of prata with curry. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, dipped into warm, flavourful curry. It was exactly what I had been craving.
Paired with a cup of teh tarik and kopi, the morning felt complete.
There was no rush. No need to hurry through the meal. Just sitting, eating, and enjoying each bite. These moments feel small, but they carry a quiet kind of richness.
It made me reflect on something I often overlook.
The ability to choose what we want to eat, when we want to eat it.
It is such a simple freedom, yet not everyone has it. To follow a craving, to enjoy a familiar comfort, to take time for a slow breakfast. These are privileges that can easily be taken for granted.
Today, I felt thankful for that freedom.
Grateful for the food.
Grateful for the time.
Grateful for the ability to listen to what my body wants and respond with care.
And in that simple plate of prata and cup of tea, there was a quiet kind of joy.
