Maya Gallery is thrilled to present Small Matter 2024, an exciting exhibition series featuring a diverse collection of small-scale works by talented artists from Singapore and around the world. Running from November 30 to December 14, 2024, this showcase invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty and creativity of miniature masterpieces.
As you explore the gallery, you’ll uncover a delightful variety of intricate paintings, imaginative photography, and delicate sculptures. Curated by Masturah Sha’ari, co-founder of Maya Gallery, this project highlights how even the tiniest pieces of art can make a big impact. Each artwork, though small in size, radiates its own unique brilliance, reflecting the artist’s individual vision. Whether you’re looking for that special piece for your home or workspace, seeking to grow your collection, or simply experiencing the magic of small art, this exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate craftsmanship and creativity.
The journey to Small Matter 2024 began with an Open Call on social media in July, which drew an overwhelming number of submissions. The selection panel was captivated by the originality, quality, and creativity of the entries, and we’re proud to showcase over 120 works by 54 artists from across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, India, Australia, Senegal, Poland, Armenia, Russia, the UK, and Germany.
This exhibition is a meaningful finale to our 2024 programming, as we wrap up the year with this vibrant celebration of small art. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2025 with even more exciting exhibitions!
