Steamed layer by layer to get the rainbow effectThis is a South East Asian snack made of glutinous rice flour and sweet coconut filling with gula melaka (palm sugar). This is my favourite. I love the coconut filling bursting in my mouth when you bite into the soft and chewy skin.. -

Medium: Acrylic on canvas boardThis is one of my favourite traditional Chinese snacks, made of soft and chewy glutinous rice flour, with sweet mung bean or peanut fillings. It is usually molded into a red tortoise shape, to signify longevity and good luck. The ang ku kuehs are placed on traditional colourful Peranakan porcelaine plate.
