27 Dec 2025 – Grateful for Laughter, Friendship, and Familiar Bonds

Today was filled with simple joys and meaningful connections, the kind that leave the heart feeling light and full.

The morning started with a comforting breakfast at Ya Kun, followed by a movie with my hubby. We had free tickets to watch Anaconda, a silly horror flick starring Jack Black. Instead of being scary or gory, it turned out to be hilariously ridiculous. We laughed so much, and it felt good to enjoy a movie that didn’t take itself too seriously. Laughter really is such a great way to start the day.

In the evening, we headed to N’s new home for a housewarming dinner. She prepared a lovely spread of Thai food, warm, flavourful, and made with care. J brought cheesecakes from Cat & the Fiddle, and I brought along a bottle of white wine. It was such a relaxed and cosy gathering, filled with good food and easy conversation.

What made the evening especially meaningful was the company. This group of friends are my ex-colleagues, people I worked very closely with in the past. Even though we have all since left the company, our friendship remains strong. Being together again felt just like old times, as if we were still working side by side. The familiarity, laughter, and shared understanding are still very much there.

I’m deeply grateful for having met these
