17 Feb 2026 – Grateful for a Beautiful CNY Day 1

Chinese New Year Day 1 was simple, relaxed, and filled with warmth.

We went out for a family dinner and enjoyed a lovely Taiwanese meal together. The food was comforting and satisfying, the kind that brings everyone to the table with happy anticipation. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, full of flavour and heart.

What made the evening extra special was the soufflé dessert we shared at the end. Light, soft, and beautifully jiggly, it was the perfect sweet finish to the meal. There is something about sharing dessert that makes the moment linger a little longer. The sweetness felt like a symbol of the year ahead, gentle, hopeful, and full of possibility.

More than the food, it was the company that made the evening meaningful. Sitting together, talking, laughing, and catching up without rushing felt grounding. Chinese New Year always carries a sense of renewal, but what I cherish most is the togetherness. Being present with family, hearing familiar voices, and sharing stories across the table reminds me how blessed I am.

It is easy to get caught up in festive busyness, but tonight felt calm and unhurried. Just good food, good conversations, and the comfort of being surrounded by people who matter.

Grateful for delicious Taiwanese flavours, for sweet soufflé moments, and most of all for the simple joy of family on the first day of a new year.
