Today, I am grateful to have completed another painting from my panda series. These gentle creatures have held a special place in my heart ever since my trip to Chengdu, where I visited the Panda Research Base and fell completely in love with them. Watching them play, rest, and simply exist in their calm, endearing way left such a strong impression on me. Their softness, innocence, and quiet charm have continued to inspire me long after the trip.
Recently, I have been feeling quite demoralised because of an incident that affected my confidence and mood. For a while, painting felt heavy. My heart wasn’t steady, and my mind wasn’t clear enough to create.
But today felt different. I found my rhythm again. The moment my brush touched the canvas, something inside me softened and opened. As the pandas slowly took shape, I felt a wave of happiness return. It reminded me why I paint, why I create, and why art will always be a safe and healing place for me.
There is also a deep sense of renewal in this moment. It feels like a gentle restart, a soft cleansing of old energy, and a quiet promise to myself to keep moving forward. Just like how pandas embody calmness and presence, I felt a fresh beginning bloom inside me. This painting became a symbol of letting go of shadows and stepping back into light, colour, and joy.
I am grateful for the inspiration these pandas bring. Grateful that my mood and confidence are slowly returning. Grateful for the feeling of renewal taking root within me. Grateful that painting can lift my spirit in such a gentle yet powerful way.
Today’s painting is more than just another piece. It is a small victory, a renewal of hope, and a reminder that joy always finds its way back. 🐼💛🎨
