25 Nov 2025 – Grateful for Teaching My First Yoga Lesson

Today marks a special milestone. I conducted my very first yoga lesson, and I am filled with gratitude. My student was a young man still in school, someone who plays competitive bowling and wants to improve his flexibility so he can perform better. It was inspiring to see such dedication at a young age.

We spent an hour working through gentle stretches and breathing exercises. The aim was to open his body safely, slowly, and mindfully. I guided him through poses that would help lengthen tight muscles, release tension, and create more space in his joints. It felt meaningful to introduce him to the power of breath, showing him how deep inhalations and long exhalations can help him go deeper into each pose and calm his mind during stressful moments.

I am especially grateful to my yoga master for trusting me with his student. That trust means a lot to me. My student was attentive, sincere, and gave his best. Watching him try, adjust, and improve reminded me of the beauty of teaching, the exchange of energy, the shared intention, and the quiet progress that happens moment by moment.

I encouraged him to keep practising, to work towards a full forward fold, and to use breath as his anchor during competitions and studies. Yoga is not just about the body. It is a tool for life, for resilience, for calm, for clarity.

I also want to say thanks to my classmate, SF, for running through the yoga sequence with me before the class.

Today, I am grateful for this opportunity to teach, to guide, and to share what I have learned. It feels like the beginning of something meaningful, and I look forward to growing into this role with humility and joy. 🌿🧘‍♀️💛
