21 Apr 2026 – Gratitude for completing Gentle Giants under the View From Above series

Today, I completed the first painting in my new series, View from Above.

It has been a while since I last finished a painting. The pause was longer than I expected, and with it came that quiet resistance. The kind that makes starting feel heavy, and finishing even harder.

But today, I crossed that line.

This piece marks the beginning of something new. A shift in perspective, quite literally. Seeing the world from above, observing shapes, movement, and space in a different way. It feels fresh, yet deeply aligned with how I want to grow as an artist.

As I worked through the painting, I felt myself returning. Stroke by stroke, layer by layer, I reconnected with that familiar flow. The one that quiets everything else and brings me fully into the present.

Finishing it today brought a sense of relief, but more than that, a quiet satisfaction.

I showed up.
I stayed with it.
I completed it.

After a long pause, that matters more than perfection.

This painting is not just the start of a new series. It is a restart. A reminder that creativity doesn’t disappear during pauses. It waits, just beneath the surface, ready when I am.

I’m grateful for the courage to begin again.
Grateful for the discipline to follow through.
Grateful to feel that connection to my art once more.

And maybe this is what growth looks like.

Not constant motion.

But the willingness to return, and start again with intention.
