29 Apr 2026 – Gratitude for hanging our with my Artist Friend

Today, I met Kay for an afternoon of chitchat over lunch, coffee, and dessert.

Nothing planned, nothing complicated. Just time set aside to sit, talk, and be present.

We talked about life, about little things and bigger things, about moments that made us laugh and others that made us pause. The kind of conversation that flows easily, without effort, without needing to impress.

It felt light.

In the middle of busy days and long to do lists, it’s easy to forget how nourishing this kind of connection is. To sit across from someone who knows you, who listens, who shares openly.

There was laughter.
There was warmth.
There was that quiet comfort of simply being together.

Lunch turned into coffee. Coffee turned into dessert. And time moved gently, without pressure.

I left feeling fuller, not just from the food, but from the connection.

Grateful for friendships that remain steady over time.
Grateful for conversations that don’t need structure.
Grateful for afternoons that remind me life is not just about doing, but also about being.

And maybe that’s what makes these moments so meaningful.

They are simple.

But they stay with you.
